55NiCrMoV7/1.2714  is an Ni alloyed die steel which has extreme toughness and good through hardening properties with very little size change after heat treatment.55NiCrMoV7/1.2714 is similar to AISI/SAE L6,and is used  for making forging dies,hot shear knives,punches,backing plate,die holders,hot punching tools.

Heat Treatment
Annealing  For 55NiCrMoV7/1.2714
1.Nominal Annealing temperature:650-700°C
2.Cool slowly in the furance
3.Maximum Brinell hardness of 255

Hardening and Tempering(QT)  For 55NiCrMoV7/1.2714
1.Nominal Hardening temperature:830-870°C for oil,830-890°C for air.
2.Hold at the temperature then quench in oil or air.
3.Tempering  as soon as possible when the temperature low to ambient temperature
4.Heat uniformly to the required temperature allowing a soaking time of two hours per 25mm of ruling section.
5.A second tempering is highly recommended.
6.keep the material out of the furnace ,then cool in the air

Stress Relieving For 55NiCrMoV7/1.2714
1.Stress relieving  should be carried out by heating to 650-700°C to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
2.Cooling in furnace to 300-350°C
3.Cooling in air
