Alloy steel is steel that is alloyed with a variety of elements in total amounts between 1.0% and 50% by weight.Common elements that are added to make alloy steel are Molybdenum, Manganese, Nickel, Silicon, Aluminium, Chromium, and Vanadium,they are used to improve its mechanical or physical properties. To achieve some of these improved properties,such as strength,hardness,toughness,hardenability and so on, the steel usually require heat treating.
